Richard M. Vanier, 79, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away July 23, 2012 at home. Born February 28, 1933, son of the late George Kenneth and Ethel (Troutman) Vanier.
Richard was the Chairman and Co-Chairman of the Harrisburg Arts Festival, 1970-1971. He was also the former President of the Harrisburg Chapter of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsman, a silver and goldsmith, and a lapidarian. Richard served in the PA Army National Guard, 104th Armored Cavalry for 14 years as a tank commander/tank driver.
Surviving Richard are his son, Kirk Vanier ; daughter, Michele Ligon; sisters, Margaret Scott and Ethel Marie Roller and husband Ralph; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Along with is parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Phyllis (Arms) Vanier; and brother, George Kenneth Vanier.
